Bootstrapping 0.3 Runs on MySQL and MariaDB
Bootstrapping now keeps reference data in step on MySQL 8.0 and later and MariaDB 10.6 and later, as well as SQLite and PostgreSQL. Each apply runs in strict mode with values converted by the server itself, so a value too long for its column stops the plan instead of being cut short, and an admin’s edit made during an apply is kept, never overwritten. The merge tests came out identical on MySQL, figure for figure.
A link between tables can now name its row by several columns, such as a region and a code. And the repository is a GitHub Action that posts the seed plan on a pull request and fails the check when a conflict would block the apply. The independent review found that a database password could reach that comment through a driver’s error message; every error is now scrubbed of it. The release post has the details, and the 0.3.0 binaries are on GitHub.
